On January 5th, 2012, the St. Mary’s Varsity basketball team defeated the Union Catholic Vikings in a thrilling game with a final score of 68-54.  St. Mary’s shooting was on point from the start.  Senior Stephen Alexander had a great night finishing with 20 points and six steals.  Senior Rashaun Liggon did a great job cleaning up the boards with 14 rebounds and contributing ten points.  The Vikings went on a short run entertaining the crowd with an alley-oop, but the Hilltoppers answered back with a few steals and Freshman Dontay Julius hit a half court buzzer beater to end the 3rd quarter.  Both teams fought hard in the 4th, but Senior Isaiah Jenkins put the finishing touches on the game with a two handed dunk.
